6 things to watch out for as an exhibitor
1. Screens will stand next to your lighting
The new AV sector brings LED walls and video displays into the halls. The organiser has not published rules for dark rooms or light spill. Ask before you design an enclosed dark room.
2. You share visitors with Intersec
One visitor badge opens both shows. Intersec had 44,764 visitors in 2026, against 16,473 here. Show how your lighting works with security and building systems, so that Intersec visitors stop.
3. Saudi buyers are the largest foreign group
Outside the UAE, the top visitor countries in 2026 were Saudi Arabia, China, India, the UK, Egypt, Oman, Germany, Qatar and Kuwait. Bring Saudi project references.
4. Awards finalists pitch on stage
In 2026, shortlisted products were pitched live at The Specifiers' Arena as part of the final judging. If you entered, prepare a speaker.
5. Specifiers judge the awards
In 2026, 34 judges from 9 countries picked the winners. Martin Lupton and Sharon Stammers of Light Collective UK chaired the panel.
6. Awards night is the last show day
The 2027 awards are on 14 January. Plan staff rotas for that evening and for the final day.
Who else will be there

The venue and the city that week
- The show shares DWTC with Intersec Global on the same days. The organiser calls the pair the largest building services trade fair in the Middle East and North Africa.
- THINKLIGHT, InSpotLight and the Smart Building Summit run alongside the show.
- SteelFab runs in Sharjah and WFES runs in Abu Dhabi in the same week, so crews and trucks are busy.
